Opening Reception - Patria o Muerte: Cuban Reflections

Please join us at the A Gallery on Thursday, March 1st, during Pioneer Square Seattle's First Thursday Art Walk for the opening reception of "Patria o Muerte: Cuban Reflections" - an installation of work by artist Peter Christenson. Peter is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and educator who has lectured, exhibited, and screened his work across the United States and internationally. He is an Assistant Professor of Fine Arts at Washington State University and the current director of the Guest House Cultural Capital Residency (GHCCRes), a residency program for cultural scholars in central Washington. For this series, the concept of "reflection" highlights the serious meditative components of Christenson’s time in Cuba considering the culture, politics, and identity of a complex, diverse, and beautiful country. The exhibition at A Gallery will be a curated selection from Christenson’s Cuban Reflections multimedia series initiated during his 2017 visit to the country.
