Kouki Tsuritani: Dreamscapes - On exhibition at Davidson Galleries from November 5 through December 24. Mezzotints and wood engravings of the internal world by Japanese artist Kouki Tsuritani. Tsuritani was born in 1967 in Tokyo, Japan. He received his Bachelor’s and MFA from Kanazawa College of Art in Japan where he studied oil painting and printmaking. He often works in three different types of printmaking: mezzotint, wood engraving, and photogravures. Tsuritani is known for detailed, imaginative compositions of people and humanlike creatures. He often creates calm, still scenes that present the characters in a minimalist setting. Tsuritani’s work has been exhibited extensively in Japan and internationally and is included in several major collections. View exhibition online at davidsongalleries.com.
