From Sand to Stars | Indigenous Australian Art

ArtX Contemporary is proud to present a new collection of paintings by Indigenous Australian artists. From Sand to Stars shares stories from the far Western Desert to the central heart of this spectacular continent. These dynamic paintings employ visual languages that have developed over centuries; what may appear abstract is rich with symbols and narratives that honor the artists’ land, ancestors, and culture. This group exhibition features works by internationally renowned senior artists, like Gloria Petyarre and Abie Loy Kemarre, established mid-career artists like Elizabeth Kunoth Kngwarreye and Jeannie Mills Pwerle, as well as emerging artists.
