Detached and detaching – Barbara Noonan

Lynn Hanson Gallery is thrilled to be featuring Detached and detaching by Barbara Noonan. Her newest collection of soft pastel paintings over watercolor washes range from subtle palettes to vibrant hues.   The series will intrigue and challenge viewers. Bowls that are eerily afloat in space. A tea cup tethered to the shadows, and yet, where is the table? Watercolor spills from one form to another in deep indigo as dishes await a meal.    Noonan draws us into a world of struggle as she attempts to keep her friend in this reality as her hippocampus deems different. Her work describes the fleeting moment of reality and the blur of memory as it vacates from one moment to the next. Rich colors and bold marks interpret synapses firing in warm abstracted trio.    Barbara is a signature member of the Northwest Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of the West Coast, Women Painters of Washington and the Camano Art Association.  She has curated and juried exhibitions around the Northwest and her award-winning pastels are in regional NW collections, and in galleries in Washington State and Florida. Located in the heart of Pioneer Square, Lynn Hanson Gallery is a contemporary art gallery – a welcoming space full of approachable art. Open First Thursdays from 5 to 8:15 pm, and Friday-Saturdays from 11 am to 4 pm.
