Wet in a Dry Place - First Thursday Opening

"Wet in a Dry Place (Not Mine)," is a series of photographed landscapes by performance artist Jocelyn Beausire, examining the nascent alienness of a (her own) foreign body in the landscape of Quebrada del Diablo, Chile. The series addresses the constructed binary between body/place through the lens of motherhood, painting the connection as a kind of prolonged post-partum struggle. What does parentage mean in the context of land, and to what extent do violent histories position/predetermine/predestine present relationships.

Join us for a First Thursday opening party at Caffe Vita for food, drinks, and conversation, and music by Katie Mostoller and Bri Mostoller. Show will run through the end of February during Caffe Vita open hours: M-F 6:00 am - 6:00 pm.
