LYNN HANSON GALLERY is delighted to exhibit felting artist and storyteller Mimi Sturman’s newest creation: The Tsar’s Wife on Horseback. As explained in Mimi’s story, after their deaths, Tsarine Alexandria and Rasputin return to the palace as shades in the night. Rasputin’s presence appears as a large rabbit, while the Tsarine, an aromatic corpse surrounded by flies, is mounted on a galloping steed. The duo returns triumphantly to languish in sybaritic style. With pieces as tall as 8 feet, the installation will fill the gallery, and will be available for viewing from April’s First Thursday Art walk (April 7) to the end of May. This installation was funded by a grant from 4Culture. In addition to this exciting unveiling, and located in the same part of the TK building, the gallery’s NEW Design Studio will also be offering a look at some of our other artist’s pieces. LYNN HANSON GALLERY is a contemporary art gallery in the heart of Pioneer Square - a welcoming space full of approachable art.
