Lynn Hanson Gallery: Scene | Unseen - Chris Holt

Lynn Hanson Gallery: Scene | Unseen - Chris Holt

Dive into the paradoxical world of Scene | Unseen, where Chris Holt masterfully intertwines the visible and the invisible, the foreground and the background. Through intricate layers of symbolism and contrasts, Holt's invented scenes juxtapose delicate florals, treated like floral portraits in clear glass vases, against the majestic, serene landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. The oil paintings capture the fleeting beauty of sunrises and sunsets, adorned with bees, butterflies, and birds that add a vibrant pulse to each scene. Each composition invites the viewer to contemplate the relationship between the elements—the silent conversation between a solitary bloom and the vastness of mountains, forests, and the waters of Puget Sound. This exhibition challenges perceptions, urging an exploration of the unseen emotions and connections that lie beneath the surface. The show runs from July 5 through the 27, with two receptions. Join us for opening night, during the Pioneer Square Art Walk, on July 11 from 5-8 pm, or at our reception for the artist, Saturday, July 13 from 2-4 pm. Chris will be at both events. (Art Walk is on the 11th this month as First Thursday is the 4th of July). We welcome your visit any weekend in July, with regular gallery hours of 11-4 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, or by appointment. Our gallery is also participating in the Seattle Art Fair this year, July 25-28. Visit us at booth #A-20. www.seattleartfair.com
