The 2021 Members Exhibition, Toward Resilience On view at Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) November 4- January 15, 2021 Seattle, WA. Oct 15, 2021 - The Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) 2021 Members’ Exhibition, Towards Resilience examines themes of resilience, perseverance, and re-engagement contextualized within the pandemic realities of the past eighteen months. Fifteen selected artists offer variations on these themes juxtaposing the figural against the abstract and the natural against textile and draftsmanship. “Presented in this exhibition is a stark, albeit joyous reflection on the past, with an exuberant desire to move harmoniously into the future. “ - Negarra A. Kudumu, CoCA Curator Artworks will be showcased November 4—January 15, 2022, with an opening reception on November 4 from 5-8pm as part of the PIoneer Square Art Walk. Featured CoCA Artist Members include A. Rawkson, Tatiana Garmendia, Sarah Banks, Joan Beard, A. Reginald Brooks, Esra Ebru, Jody Joldersma, Kevin E. Regan, Maggie Mackin, Neil Berkowitz, Brenetta Ward, Steve Jensen, Suze Woolf, Vinaya Rao, and Kree Arvanitas. The CoCA Members’ Exhibition is an annual premier show dedicated to shining a light on the collective works that move us together toward a bright and dynamic future. CoCA continues our stewarding tradition of contemporary art in the Pacific Northwest and beyond in our annual members’ show by highlighting the essential role of artists within the global conversation of artist makers. CoCA Artists Members receive 70% of all sales. CoCA’s 2021 Members’ Exhibition, Towards Resilience is made possible with support from Seattle’s Office of Arts & Culture, Artist & Craftsman Supply, 4Culture, ArtsWA, Office of Arts and Culture, Edwards Mother Earth Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
