As part of our programming for "(Where) Do We Belong?", we are pleased to present a dance performance featuring dancer and artist Milvia Pacheco during November’s Pioneer Square Artwalk.
Join us for this live event. Marías is a work-in-progress dance and poetry performance inspired and created by Pacheco during the recent staged reading of the book, Killing Marías, written by Washington State’s Poet Laureate Claudia Castro Luna. Recorded music by Trio Guadalevin will accompany the piece. Drawing on Mexican Son Jarocho and Huasteco, melodies sung in Zapotec, Spanish xácaras, Italian ciaccona, Andalusian song, Sephardic balladry and Moroccan shabia – Abel Rocha, August Denhard and Antonio Gómez are Trio Guadalevin.
