Opening Reception - Revisited: Smith Tower
The pop-up A Gallery on Occidental Park is pleased to present new work by artist Zachary Burns, opening to coincide with the First Thursday Art Walk on November 1st, 2018.
Built in 1914, the Smith Tower is one of the oldest elements of Seattle’s skyline. It has witnessed the establishment of Boeing, the construction of I-5, the construction and demolition of the King Dome, and countless other changes. In his project “Revisited,” Zachary Burns examines these changes by exploring the Seattle Municipal Archives and layering modern photographs on the historic images he finds. For this exhibition Zachary has selected images from and around the Smith Tower.
