Start of an edgy teen series by this Portland author. Joey is near his 18th birthday and looks forward to leaving State care. After a fight with his foster father, Joey secretly moves into Huntzel Manor where he works part time. Soon things get ugly when a classmate is injured by a hit-and-run driver and Joey becomes the prime suspect. He’d had an altercation with the fellow student the year before, and he has a police record. Somehow he’s got to prove himself innocent.
